Why?

Join Mayor Kip Holden in celebrating the official grand
opening of the Public Works and Planning Center (the former
Baton Rouge Junior High School building), the newly-renovated
home to various Department of Public Works divisions and the
City-Parish Planning Commission, and a brand new "One-Stop
Shop" for permitting and development. 

Immediately, following the ceremony, City-Parish officials will
take members of the media and public on a guided tour of the
renovated facility to highlight the improvements, which include
$1.7 million in federally funded-energy efficiency upgrades and
installations, helping it to meet the requirements to become the
first LEED-certified municipal building in East Baton Rouge Parish.
